Description
Artist Jane Galloway has been expressing herself through art since she was a child. She didn't take any art classes, but her ballet lessons were reflected in her drawings of dancers. Later, she graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts in Auckland, New Zealand, with an honours diploma, majoring in painting.
Galloway lives in the coastal town of Raglan, and her images are inspired by the natural surroundings. She is passionate about showing the beauty and diversity of nature while also being aware of the need to protect and preserve the environment.
This has led to a stream of work that includes photography, landscape paintings, and digital designs of native flora and fauna. Her digital prints reflect her love of nature and the styles of international fabrics and wallpaper, particularly from postwar Europe.
She has held solo exhibitions since 2000, and her work has been represented in group shows as well.
