Description

Antarctic fur seal pup, blonde morph A sporadic, though not rare, sight on beaches frequented by Antarctic fur seals (Arctocephalus gazella) on South Georgia Island, a blonde morph occurs about once in one thousand births. These yellowish or whitish seals are the result of leucism, a reduction in pigmentation that in Antarctic fur seals causes this lighter-colored fur, often normal coloration of the skin, and brownish fur on the flippers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this product supports the Sierra Club's efforts to preserve and protect the planet. - INDIVIDUAL ITEM RRP Ā£2.28
