Description
When Robert Bissell isn't painting bears, he paints rabbits, butterflies, rats, kangaroos, dragonflies, and a host of other animals. His paintings are large, dreamy, playful, allegorical meditations on the experiences of these animals and, by extension, of human animals. Bissell followed a circuitous route to painting. After a childhood on an English farm, he studied photography in London, moved to America, spent a decade working for a specialty retail company, started his own catalog company, and then left it all behind in order to make art. He now lives in London and is represented by galleries in California, Hawaii, Virginia, Oregon, and Montana. - INDIVIDUAL ITEM RRP £14.99
