Description
To many, these are the spaces that bridge the time between today and tomorrow. To Amanda Laurel Atkins, they are an escape, a haven, a place to cultivate ideas and creativity and build collections. She drew such bedrooms in her youth, seeing them as places that held the secret treasures of their owners. Today, with the fifty original drawings she has created for this coloring book, they are personal museums, and each drawing has an unexpected depth of personality.
Atkins (American, b. 1985) is a Boston-based painter and illustrator whose artwork primarily focuses on figure paintings of fictional women with vintage flair. Women, animals, literature, natural history, and the past all inspire her art, which features detailed line work. Between exhibitions, she decided to return to the concept she favored as a young artist, making these illustrations of rooms that can't help but make you imagine their owners. Atkins hopes this coloring book "will bring cozy feelings and comfort to those who color its pages. Bedrooms are special places." - INDIVIDUAL ITEM RRP Ā£12
