While Georgia O'Keeffe is best-known for her abstract flower paintings, her skull and bone depictions are also among her most recognizable works. Some may associate bones with death or barrenness, but O'Keeffe felt the vibrancy and life within the objects. "To me they are as beautiful as anything I know," she once said.
